Basic V Tee is a simple raglan tee with a wide neckline. It is designed with a relaxed fit. No short rows are used in the pattern. The edgings and the body are worked in different yarn weights to add visual interest. Worked in the original yarns, this sweater is soft as a cloud.

This pattern is graded with inclusive sizing in mind, designed to fit actual bust sizes from 76 cm / 30 inches to 168 cm / 66 inches. Measurements are given in both cm and inches.

Materials

Yarn

Lace + Lace + DK = aran weight

  1. DK weightYardage: 470 (520, 560, 635, 730) {810, 900, 985, 1045, 1145} m / 515 (565, 615, 690, 795) {885, 985, 1075, 1140, 1255} yds, including 10% allowance

Shown here: Lamana Como (100% wool; 120 m / 131 yds, 25 g / 0.88 oz ball; color: #00 Wool white): 4 (5, 5, 6, 7) {7, 8, 9, 9, 10} balls

  1. Lace weight mohair yarnYardage: 1470 (1615, 1755, 1940, 2230) {2445, 2685, 2895, 3050, 3295} m / 1605 (1765, 1920, 2120, 2440) {2675, 2940, 3165, 3340, 3605} yds, including 10% allowance

Shown here: Lamana Premia (60% mohair, 40% silk; 300 m / 328 yds, 25 g / 0.88 oz ball; color: #00 Wool white): 5 (6, 6, 7, 8) {9, 9, 10, 11, 11} balls

Three yarns (2 strands of Lace weight and 1 strand of DK weight) are held together in the pattern for the main body. While for the edgings, 2 strands of Lace weight yarn are used.

Yarn substitution idea:

If you want to use mohair lace weight yarn only for the edgings (and not for the body) and use a single strand of aran weight yarn for the body, then you would need:

470 (520, 560, 635, 730) {810, 900, 985, 1045, 1145} m / 515 (565, 615, 690, 795) {885, 985, 1075, 1140, 1255} yds of aran weight yarn

530 (580, 630, 675, 775) {825, 885, 925, 965, 1000} m / 580 (630, 690, 735, 850) {900, 970, 1010, 1055, 1095} yds of lace weight yarn.

Needles

5.5 mm / US 9 circular needle of length 80-100 cm / 32-40 inches, depending on your size; adjust needle size if necessary to obtain gauge.

3.75 mm / US 5 circular needle of length 80-100 cm / 32-40 inches, depending on your size, for the neckband and hem.

3.75 mm / US 5 needles in your preferred style for small circumference knitting in the round, for the sleeve edgings.

4.5 mm / US 7 needle of any length, for binding off or joining the hem.
