This is a free basic mitten with an ergonomically designed thumb that is designed to use up leftover worsted weight yarn. It’s sized for adults, but is designed to be adaptable.

The pattern includes full written instructions and multiple examples of making these with a corrugated rib (a nice way to learn that technique!) as well as extra charts for making a fair isle cuff and designing your own versions. I’ve also included links to good tutorials on basic techniques.

I have found that each pair uses less than 100g of yarn. Most of my samples use a main color of worsted weight and then a mix of worsted and DK accent colors.

Have fun playing with this! I did, and now have a stack of mittens to give away!
