This awesome ear warmer is basic in its simplicity. I used a camo blend but you can use any solid or varied yarn you choose. What takes it from basic to awesome is the hair elastic. This means you can wear it even with a ponytail. Woot! Warning, I crochet very tight and use a stiffer yarn. If you crochet loosely then you may want to go down a hook. Same rules apply if you use a soft yarn.
