Basiu
Basiu is a triangular shawl, knitted from one tip to the other. You shape a triangle through increases (in the first part) and decreases (in the second). That way you cast on 3 stitches and bind of 6, using a kitchener stitch.
As you go, you knit the I-cord edge, which gives the shawl a nice finish.
The technique used is two coloured brioche, and colour combinations are endless. You can use 4, 3 or just 2 different colours. Or even 1, relying on the shawl’s structure to make its magic!
2 parts of the shawl feature different brioche patterns – the bubbles and the lines.
Basiu is designed to use any fingering/4 ply (100g-400m) yarn.
Gauge is not important here, just bear in mind, if you use sport or dk, the metrage of yarn needed will be different.
