Basket Full of Friendship
The Basket Full of Friendship Cowl was designed to showcase a beautiful skein of tonal DK yarn from The Yarn Patch in TN that was gifted to me by a fellow knitter.
I met Denis B. and his wife on a transatlantic sailing when a small crafting group met up on sea days … of which there were many when do you do a crossing! We had knitters and crocheters in the group, from Canada and the US. Denis joined the group and was working on a basketweave project as a gift and so it felt only fitting that the cowl design would include a stitch that he was familiar with.
Denis introduced me to the yarns of his LYS in TN - The Yarn Patch - and to Heather, the dyer. I loved knitting with Heather’s yarn and the soft and squishy cowl practically came up with its own name when combining the stitch with the friendship that has grown out of our meeting on a cruise ship.
The möbius cowl has a fluid twist and no right or wrong side - it’s a continuous loop that will provide warmth and comfort on cold days and is a reminder that we can all be connected by friendship.
I hope you enjoy knitting your own Basket Full of Friendship.
