This is my favorite every day toe up sock. It’s not too fussy, it doesn’t have lacy holes to let in drafts, the stitch pattern is simple enough that it makes a good on the go project. The basket rib has more stretch than stockinette, but less than plain rib, so you get a snug but stretchy sock that fits a wide range of foot sizes without squeeze. The gusset and heel are formed by increase rounds, a few short rows, then decrease rounds so there are no heel flap stitches to pick up.
