When I had published the (snowflake) basket weave beanie I had already promised to publish the matching cowl soon.
It’s a super-easy stranded pattern, because it has only two colors throughout the whole project and the strands are so short due to the basket weave pattern, that you do not have to cross any strands over the working yarn.

The herringbone edges at the top and the bottom are added as extra eye-catchers.

The cowl starts with a two-color cast-on which is also described in the pattern in a picture tutorial.

I got the idea from a basket standing in our bathroom… and it didn’t get out of my head anymore until it was done :)

It’s completeley knitted in 4-ply sock yarn and you need about 35 g of each color.
It will also look great in other color choices. Like black and white, or dark red and white, white and dark green…
But you can also use Acrylic yarn of similar weight.

Als ich die Korbgeflechtmütze veröffentlicht hatte, hab ich ja den dazu passenden Loop auch angekündigt.
Hier ist er.
Ebenfalls wieder in 4-fach Sockenwolle gestrickt in blau-weiss.
Ihr könnt aber wie immer auch Acrylgarn ähnlicher Stärke verwenden.
Man braucht ca. 35 g pro Farbe.
Auch dickeres Garn, dann fällt der Loop größer aus.
Er beginnt mit einem zweifarbigen Anschlag, der auch in einer bebilderten Anleitung im pdf beschrieben wird. Das Korbgeflechtmuster ist einfach zu stricken, weil es hier keine langen Spannfäden gibt. Man muss also gar nichts! kreuzen.
Die Fischgrätbordüren am oberen und unteren Rand sorgen für einen schönen Abschluß.
