This pattern was inspired by my husband’s Granny. I had been making some purses and she mentioned how much she liked them. She loves red but was looking for a purse in black, so I decided to combine the two. I think the finished effect worked well. Granny also loves quilting and I thought the basket weave pattern fit in well with her love of all things “country.”

The purse fastens with a toggle button. The actual basket weave pattern might be a little hard to see in these pictures because of the sheen of the nylon thread used. I can tell you that it turns out so cute! I want to make one for myself! :-)
