This pattern is knitted in a basket weave stitch, and is made top down. A provisional cast is made first, which will be located mid-back. The yoke will be worked flat, and once the yoke is joined in the round, the rest of the body is made.

The sweater has a collar and a very relaxed fit. The sweater is suited for any gender. Check the tester photo’s for some examples of different colours, genders, and body types.

The sweater has written instructions as well as some charts. The charts lay out the yoke and the gauge swatch. This is so that you can get familiar with the placement of the purls and stitches that form the basket weave pattern.

The materials needed are:

  • 10 (11) 12 (13) 14 (15) 15 (16) 17 balls of Hobbii Friends Wool or a yarn with the same gauge
  • 4.5mm and 3.5mm circular needles in 60/80/100 cm depending on how big a size you’re making.
  • 4.5mm and 3.5mm circular needles in 20-30cm, or 4.5mm and 3.5mm dpn’s, OR use the longer needles with magic loop method
  • Scissors
  • A tapestry needle for weaving in ends
