Basket Weave Sweater

Any seasons casual sweater, a simple design for for modern girls!!
Multiple wear, dress it up or down with skirt, tights, jeans, boots, heels, flats or sneakers!

This sweater is a result of my effort to create a woven look to the crochet fabric.
I ended up with a modified Bean-stitch, and I’m very happy with the final result!
Worked from top/down, in one piece. Slightly shaped for hip-width.
The final border is an easy stitch that I often use to achieve a vertical rib-effect for crochet.
The sleeves are shaped for narrow and tall hand-covering cuffs, same ribbing as on the body.

Optional choice for how to work the neck:

• A few rounds rib-sts for simple neckline.
• Turtle-neck worked in the neck-line.
• Wide and separate neck-warmer. With or without, I love the last choice! See pics

The sizes are slightly wide. If you like an over-sized sweater, choose one size larger.

Yarn:
DK, Light/3, OR any yarn suitable for your project obtaining instructed gauge.
My yarn: Katia, Alabama. 50/50 % Cotton/Acrylic.
11 WPI (Wraps per Inch), 8 ply.
Skein 50 gr/105 m (1.8 oz/ 115 yds). Col. 3 Crudo.

Size S: 750 gr (26.5 oz) - M: 800 gr (28.5 oz)
L: 900 gr (32 oz) - XL: 1000 gr (35.3 oz).

Crochet hooks:
Body and sleeves: European metric 5 mm (US H/8)
Ribbing Cuffs: 6 mm (US J/10)
Ribbing Body, and separate neck-warmer: 7 mm (K or L)

Sizes:
Small: US 6-8 - EU: 34-36
Medium: US 8-10 - EU 36-38
Large: US 12-14 - EU 40-42
X-Large: US 16-18 - EU 44-46

Finished garment chest-width diameter
S: 47 - M: 50 - L: 54 - XL: 59 cm across.
