ERRATA: In some versions of the printed pattern made available at shows & events, the chart in row 10 shows a purl stitch at the end of the 32 stitch repeat. This should be a knit stitch. The written instructions are correct. We apologize for any inconvenience.

I love sock and fingering weight yarns, but I am not a passionate sock knitter. So what to do with the sock yarns amassing in my stash?

In oncology offices or cancer centers across the country, a patient may select their hat from a basket offered by a nurse or staff member. In that one moment, the patient sees that offer as a ‘basket of hope.’

This hat is to help remind all of us that sometimes it’s the one hat in a basket that makes all the difference to someone going through cancer.

I am not a professional designer. If you find errata in this pattern, please PM me.
