Basketweave for Dummies!
Great pattern with chart for knitting a large Basketweave Scarf!
There is not a required gauge with this pattern since it depends on your needle size and yarn.
I wanted a wide and long scarf. The basketweave pattern looked perfect but I couldn’t figure out the original pattern. I frogged too many times until I finally sat down and charted a larger scarf and an easier way to knit this up.
I wanted to make this for my son in Bogota Colombia and I think this looks like the landscape. Tiled roofs among high buildings creates a mixture of texture.
The pdf chart can be highlighted any color you want. I highlighted the Knit stitch yellow and the Purl blue so it would be easy to see. I used yellow and blue markers (cotton yarn) to help me keep my place in the pattern. Each time I started a knit row I would slip a yellow marker at the beginning and blue when I started a purl. I had 8 markers I kept near my pattern so I wouldn’t lose my place even if a marker slipped out.
I bought a bag of this yarn from Little Knits! Great price and I have enough to make this scarf extra long!
