We want our new bathroom in Portugal to remind us of the beach and the sea. This is what this bath mat with its seashell pattern is representing. For this piece, I used the Double Knitting Technique which means knitting both sides of the piece at the same time. When finished, the front and the back have the same pattern, just with one “positive” and one “negative” side with the colours reversed. This technique also creates a nice and thick knitting piece, very comfortable on the feet.

Unser neues Badzimmer in Portugal soll an Strand und Meer erinnern. Dieses Motiv nimmt die Badematte vor dem Waschtisch auf mit vielen Muschelmotiven. Sie wird in der Double-Face-Technik gearbeitet, bei der Vorder- und Rückseite in einem Durchgang gestrickt werden. Die Vorderseite zeigt später das gleiche Muster wie die Rückseite, nur das diese ein „Negativ-Bild“ also vertauschte Farben hat. Weiterer Vorteil der Technik ist ein dickes Gestrick, das für die Füße eine weiche Grundlage bildet.
