Starting with a bobble-edged neckline, Batignolles can be made as a cardigan or a sweater and is knitted from the top down with increases to shape the shoulders. The yoke is then separated to work the sleeves and body in their bold polka-dots, all using the stranded colourwork (Fair Isle) technique. The sleeves are generous to give a gathered blouse-effect, tightened at the cuff and finished off, once again, with a row of small bobbles. The body is straight and can be lengthened or cropped to your preference.

Gauge
On 3 mm, in Fair Isle and after washing and blocking: 26 stitches and 26 rounds to 10 x 10 cm (4 inches x 4 inches). Or use any needles to get gauge, then use two sizes down for the ribbing.

Yarn
Look for a super fine (1) or fingering-weight yarn that knits to 26 stitches in 10 cm on
3 mm needles.

XS 83 cm
S 92 cm
M 101.5 cm
L 110 cm

Positive ease is quite classic at 10 cm (4 inches). Consider sizing down for a more fitted look. The model in my photos usually wears an S (EU size 38) and is modelling the XS.
