I just love Battenberg Cake, as it reminds me of my gran and evokes many a happy memory.
As a result I decided that I just needed to cover myself in joy.
The basic squares are made using the trusted and true granny square, and are joined together using pretty braided style joins and filet work.
I really enjoyed making this one.

You can make it with 4 squares for a lap blanket version or 9 squares for a throw.
