Bavarian Columns Socks
The Japanese Knitting Stitch Bible is my new favorite knitting book. You might recognize this stitch pattern from the cover of the book. I decided to use just the one, fairly simple stitch pattern and arrange it in columns for a ribbed sock with a ‘twist’ (pun intended!). These socks are worked from the cuff down with a traditional heel-flap heel. The columns of twisted stitches flow down the heel, and the stitch pattern continues down the instep of the foot.
Pattern purchase version: Directions for three cuff lengths are provided.
Cast On version: The shorter cuff of these socks fits snugly, so be sure to read the notes for a suggestion on what to do if you wish to make the cuffs longer.
