Baymax stands about 10 inches tall (on his own two feet – instructions are provided for weighted legs). This pattern is written using standard US crochet terms and sizing, and is simple enough for a beginner with basic amigurimi skills (SC, pinning pieces together, sewing, inserting safety eyes) to follow along. Gauge will vary depending on materials used.
Materials needed:
- 1 skein white worsted or aran weight yarn (Baymax photographed for this pattern used a little over half a skein of Red Heart Supersaver -- 4.5 oz/236 yards)
- Size G crochet hook
- Two 12mm safety eyes
- Small amounts of black and white embroidery floss
- Stuffing material of your choice
- Poly pellets and a stocking (optional, if you would like your Baymax to have weighted legs)
- A couple square inches of cardboard
