This is a PDF Crochet/Amigurumi Pattern for a cute alligator who is a bayou bard. He has three accessories:

  • two vests - one of them is green with a leafy border (giving it a “swamp greenery” vibe) and the other (thanks to lemon peel stitch) looks more like a textured leather vest,
  • lute (which can be worn crossbody on the front/back or in alligator’s hand)
  • straw hat (with a pointy top, dark blue ribbon around it and frayed edge)
  • flip flops You can take the accessories off and put them on in different ways.

Plushie may look a little complicated or intimidating but pattern is written with beginners in mind, with a lot of pictures and detailed instructions of every step. I’ve also included tips and tricks that you can use in other projects (like clean color change, invisible increase, invisible decrease) so this can be a great project/pattern to improve crochet skills.

This alligator is also NOT a crocodile (he has only top teeth visible, has a round snout, not that long tail and he’s olive green instead of more saturated green).

For reference, I used 2.5 mm crochet hook and sport/dk weight yarn.

Finished size: 20cm/7.9” but it may vary depending on your yarn and hook size
