This pattern is still being improved and will undergo some testing on hook size, etc. I made an older child size, and I usually go up one-two hook sizes, so I suggested a smaller hook than I used. If you have made a worsted/aran beanie whose fit you like that is 72 dc around, use the same hook as that.

You may also need to modify the length --- if adding, I’d say first add an additional white row and then maybe an additional lower orange row with longer overlay stitches.
