Hear the ocean, feel the breeze, smell the sea and enjoy the beach!
Inspired by the beach and rippling sea water, this shawl came alive.

’Beach Talk’ shawl has an asymmetrical but nearly triangular shape with a built-in edge and is worked flat from the right tip to the left edge. The pattern is fully written out with stitch counts and includes a chart for the cable repeats.
A video tutorial for knitting cables without a cable needle is provided, too.
YARN
Erika Knight, Wild Wool (85% Wool, 15% Viscose/Nettle, 100 gr-186yds/170m).
Sample yardage, 705yds/645m in color Amble (4 skeins).
Or any DK/worsted weight yarn: approx. 700-809yds (640-740m).
MATERIALS
32-40” (minimum 80-100 cm) circular or straight needles.
US 7 (4.5 mm)
US 8 (5.0 mm)
Stitch markers, cable needle, tapestry needle.
GAUGE - BLOCKED 4” (10 cm)
In textured pattern, 15 stitches x 28 rows.
In cable pattern, 18 stitches x 28rows.
Gauge is not crucial at all, but will affect final size and yardage.
FINISHED DIMENSIONS
Approx. 81” (205 cm) wingspan along top edge x 27“ (69cm) width.
ADJUSTMENTS
Different sizes and fits can also be achieved by altering yarn weight and/or needle size(s).
