BEACHY Shawl

The sea has that something that connects us with the immensity of the planet and the universe, and at the same time with our escence, looking inwards. It is always quite an experience to face that kind of eternity. This shawl is an attempt to keep that feeling close, have it near, make it our own.
The project is divided into 3 distinct sections, each with a different color and stitch, meant to represent the sand, the foam and the ocean. My dear friend Sonia Vera (Fibras Urbanas) made with her magical hands the perfect colors for me to use and make the ideal beach. There’s only the salty air missing and we can almost feel the cool water in our feet and the wind in our face.

MATERIALS

With Fingering weight yarn
Sand color: 30 gr
Natural color: 25 gr
Water color: 100 gr
3.5 mm needle
There are packs available in Fibras Urbanas (for Argentina only) in Angora Fingering (60% patagonian merino, 30% rabbit hair, 10% polyester - 430 mt / 470 yds in 100 gr)

With Sport weight yarn
Sand color: 40 gr
Natural color: 25 gr
Water color: 100 gr (with this amount you can make 10 repetitions of the waves, if you wish to make it bigger you will need an extra skein)
4 mm needle

With DK weight yarn
Sand color: 60 gr Natural color: 45 gr Water color: 100 gr 5 mm needle
62 stitch markers.

BEACHY Shawl

El mar tiene ese no se qué que nos conecta al mismo tiempo con la inmensidad del planeta y el universo y nos hace mirar para adentro y conectar con nuestra esencia. Es siempre una experiencia enfrentarse a esa eternidad. Este chal es un intento de tener esa sensación más cerca, llevarla con nosotros, hacerla propia.
Este proyecto tiene 3 secciones y cada una tiene un color y un punto distintos que intentan evocar la arena, la espuma y el agua del océano. De las manos mágicas de Sonia Vera de Fibras Urbanas salieron los colores perfectos para retratar las playitas más soñadas. Sólo falta el olorcito a sal y casi sentimos los pies en el agua fresquita y el viento en la cara.

Con hilado grosor Fingering (2/7)
Color arena: 30 gr Color natural: 25 gr Color agua: 100 gr Aguja 3,5 mm
Hay packs disponibles en la tienda de Fibras Urbanas (para Argentina) en Angora Fingering (60% merino patagónico, 30% pelo de conejo, 10% poliéster - 430 metros /470 yds en 100 gr)

Con hilado grosor Sport
Color arena: 40 gr
Color natural: 25 gr
Color agua: 100 gr (con esta cantidad llegas a 10 repeticiones de las olas) Aguja 4 mm

Con hilado grosor DK (4/7)
Color arena: 60 gr Color natural: 45 gr Color agua: 150 gr Aguja 5 mm

Para las 3 versiones usaremos 62 marcadores de puntos.
