Beacon Rock Socks
Columns of garter stitch and stockinette are crossed over each other in the highly textured Beacon Rock Socks. Cabling takes place over knit stitches for a simple first step into cables using texture; placing texture into the cable but not working the texture during the cable process. The heels and toe are worked with short rows for a totally seamless and stretchy sock.
The cable pattern for these socks was really inspired by trails in the woods, I love how smaller trails seem to flicker and flow with areas of deep texture interspersed with smooth sections. The cushy and seamless garter stitch toe and heel are included for total comfort on tired feet that have just embarked on a new journey.

Pattern Notes
These socks are worked from the top down in the round, the upper leg and top of sock are worked with more stitches than the sole of the sock. The short row heel is worked over the larger number of stitches for a deeper fit, and stitches are decreased for the stockinette sole after the heel is complete. Stitches are decreased on the top of the sock before working the short row toe and the toe is seamed to the sole on the bottom of the sock.
