SKILL LEVEL: Easy. Written in US terminology
OVERVIEW: Even beginners can crochet a stack of customizable beaded bangle bracelets with this fun, no-pre-stringing design!
SIZING: You can customize the bangle to fit any hand size. See the pattern’s How to Measure the Wearer’s Hand and How to Determine Beaded Tube Length sections.
The sample bracelet measures ~8in|20.30cm in circumference which fits hands that measure ~8 – 9in|20.30 – 22.90cm in circumference at the widest point.
GAUGE: ~1in|2.50cm = ~6 rnds of 6 beaded sts. Working around the wooden dowel, which has ~.25in|0.60cm diameter, helps even out gauge/tension and spacing between beaded sts.
YARN: 2 skeins of DK weight yarn with strands held together. The pattern samples were worked using Premier Bamboo Fair.
BEADS: Miyuki, 6/0 Rocaille Round, 4mm diameter, 1.5mm hole in colors of choice; Bead Color 1: 180 beads; Bead Color 2: 48 beads.
WOODEN DOWEL: The recommended size is ~.25in|0.60cm in diameter and 10 – 12in|25.40 – 30.50cm in length
IMPORTANT: Do not substitute a straw for the wooden dowel. Straws are not sturdy enough and often collapse under the work which can cause the tube that forms your bangle to be deformed and uneven.
