Bead Crocheted Necklace with Pendant
This pattern contains instructions (with pictures) to make the first pictured bead crocheted necklace. It is made primarily with chain stitches and beaded chain stitches.
The pattern is intended for an ambitious beginner or new intermediate.
Materials needed to make necklace in picture:
C-Lon Micro cord, 4 yards, grey color
1 - mother-of-pearl stick bead with hole drilled in middle (or an 8 mm grey Swarovski pearl)
12 – size 11o round seed beads, clear
9 – 6 mm platinum Swarovski pearls
9 – 6 mm grey Swarovski pearls
9 -- 4 mm Czech fire-polished metallic silver round glass beads
9 – 4 mm Czech fire-polished opaque metallic silver round glass beads
9 – 5 x 7 Labrador top-drilled Czech pip beads
27 – 8o round seed beads (Japanese transparent black diamond AB seed beads or similar)
1 – 13 mm antique silver flower & heart design drop pendant (or similar) hung on 6 mm jump ring
Tools/other supplies needed:
Steel crochet hook – Size 10
Bead Smith large eye beading needle
Scissors
G-S Hypo Cement, E6000 Glue or Super Glue
Beading mat, board or towel
Note about substitutions. If bead substitutions are made, make certain the bead holes are large enough for cord and needle to fit through the beads you have selected. If you use a cord with a larger diameter than C-Lon Micro cord (.115mm), the length of the necklace (and drape) may be different. Typically, the thicker the cord, the longer the necklace.
The necklace can be made in a variety of sizes and colors once you learn the technique. Second picture shows a variation of necklace.
