This warm and pretty cap has a wide cabled brim, a beaded body, and a round crown. Using 2 shades of mohair (one solid and one variegated) adds extra pizzaz. This cap was worked with handmade lampwork beads but you can use smaller glass beads for more of a “Starry Starry Night” vibe.

I’ve knitted this in a sport weight yarn but you can use anything from fingering to worsted… in general, this cap is knitted specifically to size of the wearer.

My instructions assume you know basic knitting techniques: how to cast on, bind off, knit and purl, slip stitches on and off cable needles, knit stitches together, and pick up stitches with a crochet hook.

Once you’ve completed the cabled brim, you’ll knit the rest of the cap in the round. I’ve included instructions with photos for my beading technique.

My pattern concludes with my email address for knitters who have questions or need some extra help.
