Beaded Sweater
This knitted sweater is a lot easier to make than it might appear at first glance. The beads add a beautiful embellishment and a little pizzazz to the finished piece.
This pattern can be worked by an experienced and very confident beginner knitter. I made a tutorial in text and pictures that will explain step by step how to add the beads to your knitting. Once you work with the technique for a while and get used to it, it will flow pretty quickly.
You will also need simple sewing skills.
The item(s) made with this pattern were meant to fit an 18-inch American Girl doll, as shown in the pictures. However, they will also fit similar dolls, such as Our Generation, My Life As, and others. I added a sizing chart to the pictures, to help you compare your dolls to the American Girl dolls.
It is recommended that you read entirely through the pattern before starting with it. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me.
For this pattern I used:
~ Mainstays 100% Acrylic yarn, 4-medium in the color Red
You can use any other 4-medium worsted weight yarn you choose.
~ Knitting needles size: US 8 - 5.00 mm
~ A crochet hook; I used a size 3.75 mm to work with the pony beads, which will be explained in the tutorial
- I want to keep my patterns free for everyone to use, but in return I would like to ask you not to sell them or claim them as your own. You are free to sell the completed projects you make with my patterns, however.
Have fun, and happy knitting!
