This little wee sweater is a special collaboration between Lolabean Yarn Co. and myself to celebrate our daughters - Lola (Bean!) and Olive who are very close in age. Our girls are both all about pinks, purples and hearts and designing this sweater for them was just so much fun! I hope your kiddo loves it just as much as ours!

DETAILS
This sweater is knit from the top down, which is a wonderful way to customize the length of the sleeves and body to get a great fit for the wee one in your life! You can also go back and pick out the bind off to add length later on so they can fit a bit longer as they grow. After knitting the yoke, the sleeves are separated from the body and put on hold to be returned to after finishing the torso for a totally seamless sweater.

YARN REQUIREMENTS
These are just approximations. Total yarn usage will depend on the yarn you use (fiber content, ply, etc.), your personal gauge, and any modifications you may make.

DK Weight Superwash Merino (115 g/250 yds)
MC - 99 (113, 140, 169)(210, 254, 288) g
214 (245, 303, 367)(455, 552, 626) yds
195 (224, 277, 336)(416, 505, 573) m

CC - 16 (19, 23, 28)(35, 42, 47) g
35 (40, 50, 60)(74, 90, 102) yds
32 (37, 46, 55)(68, 83, 94) m

For this pattern I chose a soft, 4-ply superwash merino yarn. Soft so it can be worn against the sensitive skin of my kiddo, 4-ply to give added strength to stand up against the wear and tear of a 6 year old, and superwash for easy care. To help the colorwork motif pop, you will want to choose strong contrasting colors.
