I was so lucky to attend the Knitting in the Hills 2019 Retreat put on by Hill Country Weavers in February 2019. While there, I was inspired by Bear, the softest and sweetest Golden Retriever I’ve ever met. I was also inspired by classes with Cecilia Campochiaro and Andrea Mowry, and took Cecilia’s sequence knitting ideas and mixed them with some more brioche knowledge to create this pattern. I found wool the color of Bear and made this squishy cowl to make the memories last!

This pattern utilizes a combination of sequence knitting and brioche to create a textured fabric that retains the squishy awesome of brioche in a fun and new way. This is a great grab and go, easily memorizable pattern. You can make it wider or thinner, longer or shorter to meet your desires.

You’ll need one skein of MC and one skein of CC in a worsted weight. I made a doubled cowl, and was able to get that out of about 90 grams of each skein. Your mileage may vary depending on your customizations. Have fun and play!
