This bear jumper pattern has been designed with Essex Lowland Search and Rescue (ESAR) in mind. Essex SAR are one of many Lowland Rescue units which exist countrywide and are a registered charity, run entirely on voluntary donation. Every year thousands of people are reported missing in Essex, as they are in all counties across the UK. Essex Lowland Search & Rescue are on call 24 hours a day, and respond to calls from the police, to assist in the search for vulnerable missing persons. In each case, a fast response is vital. The donations raised are used to fund the training of searchers and search management capability, and to also pay for all of the equipment needed for the team to be fully self-sufficient in their role, including control vehicles, mapping, GPS, communications, and first aid equipment and supplies.
