From 2014-2016 I lived in Denver, CO. Rocky Mountain National Park was a favorite place to take friends and family who were visiting or just for a day away from the city. My favorite place in RMNP is Bear Lake, an alpine lake that rests over 9,000 feet above sea level. The lake is always calm, reflecting the trees and mountains that form the incredible landscape. I loved hiking around the lake, and this cowl was inspired by my time spent there. Designed with beginner colorwork knitters in mind and made with a cashmere/wool blend yarn, Bear Lake will keep you cozy on all of your outdoor adventures.
The yarn used for the sample is a Cashmere/Merino blend (see below for details). To achieve optimum drape and warmth, I suggest you use yarn with similar fiber content. Any DK will do, but the cashmere gives this cowl some additional warmth, drape, and lightness.
