This hat is knitted flat. You first knit the ear flaps separately, from the bottom up. They are then joined, with extra stitches cast on between, to form the hat shape. The hat is topped off with a pompom and finished with twisted cords.

(NB: Pattern uses 10mm and 12mm needles, not 12.75mm, but Ravelry doesn’t have the option of 12mm!)
