Bearded Dragon Softie
Because they’re cute dammit
This pattern uses UK terminology. To make an international Bearded Dragon you will need to find an online conversion chart and a tiny patriotic flag for him to wave.
Disclaimer: I am a freehander! This pattern CAN be followed strictly but it’s designed to be as free as possible. As you can see from my lumpy pictures I made this toy VERY quickly as an experiment. Yours will look a thousand times better!
This pattern is currently free, made by VLS/Sivvus. PLEASE don’t claim it as your own, or I will have to take it down.
MATERIALS
Hook: 5mm
Yarn: Variegated DK
Stitch markers, safety eyes
Difficulty: The head is the only intricate part. After that, this pattern is NOT strict. If you go wrong, or have a loose gauge or whatever, it really doesn’t matter. What you WILL need is the confidence to freehand! So I guess it’s intermediate. As I freehanded this take my pattern as a serving suggestion and make any changes you want to if your beardie looks too deformed for your liking.
If you’re more of a purist, feel free to turn all my DCs into scs apart from in the rows where stitch height is necessary to shape the head. I like to mix up stitch lengths to create an uneven scaly effect, but if you prefer traditional amigarumi neatness then go for it.
The body is in one continuous piece from nose to tail. The arms and legs are made separately.
