I designed this afghan for my baby granddaughter born on 15 May 2017. My canvas of patterns included bows, hearts and teddies and I knitted the throw in one piece using a complementing palette of colours.
I chose Drops Paris Aran Yarn, a 100% cotton yarn particularly suitable for sensitive skins, which has a 50g ball length of 75 metres and is also surprisingly affordable. The throw can also be made from other cotton Aran yarns, though the yardage and tension may differ.
My afghan has shades of gold and yellow through to beige and cream and three motif teddies on each side. The teddy was drawn from one of my own childhood bears.
