Small pattern update to fix a typo: 13 May 2016. Row 37 should read “(37x2)” at the end, not “(38x2)”.

A small stuffed pillow or decoration in the shape of a heart. I designed this for a wedding present (at the request of the groom), to have the bride and groom’s initials on it. In the end, the initials were swiss darned, one onto each side of the heart. The heart itself is single-color, and can be stuffed (or not).

Gauge is unimportant for this project, and it can be done with any weight yarn and whichever needle size produces the effect you want.

Materials: yarn (obvs.), either 5 short dpns or 3 longer dpns and a stitch holder.

This was done with scrap yarn from a friend’s stash, so I’m not sure about the yardage. It’s not much though.

NB: I’ve only made this once, and when I made it, I ended up having to stitch up a bit of a hole where the two lobes meet. I’ve adapted the pattern that I wrote up to try and fix that, by having the two stitches in the middle knit together twice, once on each side, but I’m not sure how well it will work.
