Beatrix Bag
This petite bag is inspired by vintage patchwork quilts. I spent many hours of my childhood cutting up paper hexagons and tacking them to scraps of cotton, before sewing them together with untidy stitches.
The Beatrix bag is lined with a piece of vintage fabric and has wooden handles and a magnetic snap fastener on the inside. This pattern uses just knit and purl stitches. This project also requires basic sewing skills.
Finished size: The knitted part of the bag measures approximately 23 cm tall x 22 cm wide.
Yarn: 4 ply yarn. We used 4 x 50g balls of Knitpicks Palette - 1 ball each of Spearmint (A), Seagrass (B), Aster(C) and Ciel (D).
Needles: A pair of 3.0 mm needles (UK 11) (US 2.5)
Extras: 1 pair of wooden D shaped handles - approximately 12 cm wide.
2 pieces of lining fabric, both approximately 27 cm x 30 cm
1 x 14 mm magnetic snap fastener(optional).
