Beatrix Scarf
The scarf is knitted in DS Brioche with slip DS selvedges.
To decorate this simple scarf I decided to add two pompons.
One evening when the project was just finished I saw my scarf on
TV! It was an interesting program about Beatrix Potter. Among
of her first printed Christmas cards (in 1890) was one with “Two
rabbits in hats and coats with walking sticks walking through
snow”. One of them was wearing a long scarf with two pompons
the same colour as mine! After this amazing coincidence, it was
clear that my scarf would be called Beatrix.

The sample scarf uses a soft worsted yarn, but it can be knitted
in aran weight too.
Size
The Scarf can be knit any length and width.
Sample size: 13 x 200 cm (5” x 78”)
Yarn
Any yarn can be used.
Sample uses: 3 skeins of Moonshine in colour 7 Camp Fire
Yardage
591 yards of worsted weight wool yarn
Needles
5.5 mm (US 9), or size to obtain the gauge, for working flat
4.5 crochet hook
Pompon maker, 85 mm (3.75”) diameter
Gauge
16 sts x 46 rows = 10 cm (4”) square in DS Brioche stitch pattern using 5.5 mm (US 7) needles
