Beautiful Betta Fish

This pattern uses unconventional construction (and admittedly, a potentially aggravating amount of sewing) to create one of the least expensive, least demanding, and most colorful pets you can own –- a betta fish (also known as the Siamese fighting fish). The body is worked in the round, but all the fins are worked in rows of blo sc and then sewn along their edges to the body.
I’ve tried to help you out throughout the pattern with photos and tips. I also made charts for the three largest fins, which are a bit tricky, in addition to the written pattern. Hopefully these will be helpful for construction and/or assembly!
A lovely little gift for any fish enthusiast, but add some catnip to your fish’s belly and it could be very fun for a cat!
