This hat was inspired by the Province of British Columbia. I’m a B.C. girl born and raised and it is absolutely the best place on earth. It’s rich in community, culture, heritage and most of all natural beauty. To fit everything that B.C. has to offer into one project would be an impossible task, so the design has been heavily influenced by the provincial flag.

Sizes Available:

  • Youth (circumference up to 19”)
  • Adult (circumference up to 24”)

Gauge:
- 21 sts per 4”

Needles:
- 4.00 and 5.00mm needles (or the size that gets you gauge) on a 16” cord and 5.00mm DPN’s, or Magic Loop

Yarn:
- the pattern calls for a Worsted Weight yarn. I used Malabrigo Rios. I chose to incorporate 6 different colours, but you technically would only need 3 to achieve the intended look. The pattern is a great stash buster, as you only between 4-30g per colour, depending on the amount of colours you use

The colours I used were

  • Nimbus Grey (50 yards)
  • Natural (35 yards)
  • Ivy (15 yards)
  • Sunset (15 yards)
  • Azul Profondo (15 yards)
  • Cereza (15 yards)

If you are wanting to knit the exact same hat, there are kits available at https://a-twist-of-yarn.myshopify.com/products/beautifulb...

Additional Materials Needed

  • 4-5 stitch markers
  • scissors
  • Darning Needle

I hope you all enjoy the pattern and get the chance to visit Beautiful British Columbia.
