Beauty and the Bias- from the "No Brainer" series
Is it time for a quick knit?
Thinking about making a thoughtful hand crafted gift?
Are you ready for a new technique?
Then, Beauty and the Bias is the project for you.
This scarf knits up quickly and bias knitting is actually fun. Use a yarn that has an interesting textural or color effect. You can make the scarf wider or narrower, depending on the number of cast on stitches.
Yarn:
Any yarn that is not too thick works well- you will want some drape and fluidity to the scarf.
This pattern uses Thistledown Handpainted worsted weight: one skein (4 oz./ 190 yards)
The scarf will measure 3-4 inches wide x 64 inches long.
Gauge: (in pattern stitch) 16 stitches = 4 inches, 28 rows = 4 inches
Size 8 US (5mm) needles
The creative approach: experiment with any yarn and any needle size and a different cast on number of stitches. This will allow you to customize your scarf.
