Becky
A one-size pattern replicating a friend’s favourite sweater. It has a shallow neckline, full-length sleeves and some shaping at the hips. The body is worked in one piece bottom-up (in the round up to armpits) and sleeves are also worked in the round with the sleevehead worked flat. Shoulders are joined with 3-needle bind-off and sleeves are sewn on. It measures 34” in circumference at the widest point. I wrote the pattern as I went along: you can find the original project here.
The pattern is very basic and assumes you know standard knitting terminology i.e. there’s no list of abbreviations or descriptions of techniques. In the short-row sections (for the shoulder shaping) it’s written as w&t (wrap and turn) but I actually used German short rows.
The pattern has not been tested or tech-edited, stitch-counts are only given at key points and I give no guarantees that there aren’t errors or omissions. I’ve only put it up here so I can make it again in the future.
The finished sweater used 105g of DROPS Brushed Alpaca & Silk, plus a few extra grams for swatching.
Note: the company who made the original no longer exists so she couldn’t buy another so I don’t believe there are any issues with copyright or them losing a sale.
