A stranded blanket with a bee, honeycomb and pollen-speck pattern. It is worked in the round, and a steek bridge of 5 stitches is incorporated into the pattern. After steeking the blanket, a mitred border is added, also in the round. This is picked up and knitted all around the edge of the blanket.

The blanket is charted. There are three colours used, but only two colours are ever used in one round of knitting.

I do not include steeking instructions as there are several ways to do this and each knitter will have their own preference, but I used surface crochet for my steeking.

The main blanket is worked on a 4mm needle that is 60cm long. The edge is worked on a 3.75mm needle that is 150cm long. You will also need a stitch marker and 8 additional stitch markers for the edge, ideally different from the main marker. Finally you will need whatever you prefer to steek the blanket. I used a 3.25mm crochet hook and lengths of smooth 4 ply yarn.

I used 8 x 50g balls of Rowan Felted Tweed for the main shade; 4 x 50g balls of Rowan Felted Tweed for my first contrast shade; and 1 x 50g ball of Rowan Felted Tweed for my second contrast shade.
