Knitting pattern #Bee_Cardi is a simple yet very elegant button-fastened model for children described stitch-by-stitch.

You will find 6 sizes carefully calculated and tested: 74 (9 mos), 80–86 (1–1.5 yrs), 92 (2 yrs), 98 (3 yrs), 104 (4 yrs), 110 (5 yrs), 116–122 (6–7 yrs).

The cardigan consists of several parts made in back- and forth rows and stitches of sleeves are picked to go in the round. German short rows are used to make best comfort.

Stitch level is moderate and thanks to videos incorporated into the pattern I can recommend the pattern even for attentive and patient beginners.

You will need:
Yarn: Drops Air (150 m / 50 g 164 yds / 1.75 oz) held double
(total needed – 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6) skeins
May be substituted with: Sandnes Garn Kos, Infinity Air, Drey Michell

Knitting needles: Circular needle 7 mm US between 10.5 and 11 – with 80 cm 32 in cord and DPNs; 4 mm US6 with 80 cm 32 in cord, and DPNs.

Notions: tapestry needle, 3 stitch holders (or waste yarn), 3–4 buttons (diameter 25–30 mm 1–1.2 in), scissors, stitch markers

Gauge in a swatch of 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4 in in stockinette stitch on 7 mm US between 10.5 and 11 needles – 12 sts x 17 rows

Tools and materials for embroidery:

• rip-away iron-on interfacing with one fusible side, or removable embroidery backing 20 x 20 cm 8 x 8 in,
• embroidery thread
(colorway numbers if using Gamma brand:
for clover – 0025, 3034, 3028, 0823;
for bee – 0214, 0420, 5173;
for lavender – 0077, 3107, 0036),
• embroidery needle (thin and sharp),
• scissors
