Bee Happy Socks
These Bee Happy Socks are a super cute design, featuring little bees flying around the leg of the sock and a honeycomb colourwork pattern throughout the leg and foot of the sock. The pattern is written for 3 sizes, small (UK 5-6), medium (UK 6-7) and large (UK 7-8), but the pattern is very easily customizable to fit your own foot. As you’re knitting from the cuff down, you can slip your work over your foot to check the fit of the leg, heel and foot as you go.
Suitable for confiden knitters with knowledge of sock knitting and stranded colourwork - joining in the round, knitting with up to 3 strands of yarn at once, a short row heel, kitchener stitch. There is a link provided for a video tutorial to help you with the wing stitches.
I’ve knitted these socks using Drops Nord and Drops Fabel, it’s lovely to work with and very reasonably priced as well as easy to get hold of in balls of 50g. You will need 1 ball each of Off White and Goldenrod, 25g of Lemongrass, 10g of Fog and 5g each of Black and Pink.
Any 4 ply sock yarn will do, however, the gauge I’ve worked to is 32 stitches to 41 rows using 2.5mm double pointed needles - you can use a circular needle and the magic loop method if you prefer.
I have tried to make this pattern as user friendly as possible, but will provide you with my email address when you download the pattern, if you have any issues at all, do get in touch and I will be happy to help.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my listing, if you have any questions before purchasing, do get in touch.
