This pattern is for color work mittens featuring one of the sweetest and busiest creatures, the bee! I don’t know who decides which mascot belongs to each holiday. But much like St Patrick’s Day has leprechauns, and Thanksgiving Day has turkeys, I would petition that Valentine’s Day have bees. All of the love and sweetness of that day can be traced back to the bee. The flowers we give to each other are made possible through pollination by bees. The sweet treats we share are reminiscent of honey. And the Valentine’s cards we give should be changed to Bee mine!
Grab 2 of your favorite colors of yarn and knit mittens to celebrate the day or give to a bee-loved friend to say Bee Mine! You can also make a coordinating Bee Mine Hat!
