Beech Hill Hat & Booties
We created a baby bootie and cap pattern for B bar C Farm’s angora yarn because if you haven’t seen a baby wearing an angora hat, you are missing out on seeing something amazingly beautiful. Newborn babies are pretty special by themselves, but put an angora hat on them and they truly look like angels because the angora creates a halo-like appearance.
Using this pattern, one skein of B bar C Farm’s angora yarn will make both the hat and booties, or two hats. The mock cable is a simple way to add a little texture without cabling.
This pattern was provided with Fiber of Maine’s March subscription, along with a skein of B bar C Farm’s angora yarn. This 2-ply yarn, made from German and Geman/French Hybrid Angora rabbits shorn in Hampden, and spun in Aroostock County, Maine. The 70% angora fiber is mixed with 30% merino which helps to stabilize the angora.
