Been Missing You Shawl
This shawl is inspired by love for and friendship with knitwear designer and yarn dyer Kacey Herlihy of Kacey Knits. Kacey was a long term employee of Black Squirrel Yarns until she moved out of state. During her time at the store she became like family to me. To honor her I have borrowed the shape of her Perfectionist Trap shawl and used elements we both love: eyelets and garter. My style comes into play with a reversible cable along one side. The cable is place where it will be most visible when worn, especially the way Kacey wears shawls. This is my tribute to Kacey.
This shawl starts with just a few stitches at the tip of the cable and increases along one edge. The beginning is the tricky part. Once you get past the beginning it is a simple and repetitive pattern. The version shown is made with two skeins of Kacey Knits yarn in her colorway Moonbeams. You can make it larger by adding another skein. Or make it in any weight of yarn you choose. If you prefer, use 200g of a fingering, sport, or worsted weight yarn to get a similar size shawl. Adjust your needles size to match the weight of yarn used.
