This hat was designed with a new knitter in mind. Each step coincides with the skill explained in Skill Set: Beginning Knitting by Kay Gardiner and Ann Shayne of Modern Daily Knitting. All other instructions are explained step by step in detail.

The knitter will use these skills: long tail cast on, knitting in the round, knit, purl, slip stitches, changing colors, decreasing with knit 2 together (k2tog), using double pointed needles, weaving in ends, and making a half pompom.
