Beginners Christmas Baubles
I have been enjoying myself immensely playing around with a whole range of festive tutorials for you all!
This time around I’m showing you how to create your own knitted baubles. This is a great way to practice your knitting in the round without any pressure.
These fun decorations can be colour blocked to match your colour scheme and I also have a few bonus designs coming soon to buy if you want something a bit fancier.
I knitted my samples in DK with a 4.5mm circular needle. You can make smaller baubles by using a lighter weight yarn with smaller needles, the pattern will work just fine for any weight yarn.
I use the invisible Make One increase in this pattern, you take a stitch from below to increase (don’t worry I show you how in the video) which creates an increase that looks like a knit two together decrease.
Its a beautiful increase! It’s also the method I use for all my top down hat patterns ;)
These Festive Baubles can be a great stash buster for your odds and ends.
Remember not to over stuff as the knitting will stretch, stretch then stretch some more!
I added in some embroidery for the date 2016 in the band portion, you can personalise your baubles with your kids names, pets, family and friends. These baubles make excellent gifts, plus they are light weight which is excellent news for postal gifts!
