Scarves are a great way to sit down and add to a longer project over a consistent time. It can be difficult to find motivation when a knit takes longer to complete, so this an ideal pattern to celebrate small wins and keep going. You’ll be using knitting and purling for the main scarf. It’s a great way to practice switching between the two main stitches of the knitting world.

(and if you’re right on trend you can take a look at the blog and add a final flourish with a tassel or pom-pom!)

Who is this for?
This pattern is ideal for you if you’re a beginner knitter, who is looking to practice knitting and purling and maybe adding a longer term project to their knitting project bag. (if you’re knitting daily this will take 3-4 weeks for a beginner knitting to complete)

The pattern matches the beret from the Novice Knitter’s course. See the beret pattern here.

Why do you need it?
Adding longer projects to your knitting skills is a perfect next step for beginner knitters.

If you’re an experienced knitter this is a great pattern to inspire a little creativity- use different textured yarns, choose to add tassels, pom-poms, or a fringe to the ends of the scarf. Everyone’s scarf can look totally unique.
