This is a pattern designed (and written) for beginners (but fun for all levels of experience). It makes one of the most useful potholders I’ve ever had. 8.5 inches x 8.5 inches - large. And, its double sided for extra protection against heat.

I like to use 100% cotton and I don’t think the brand name is important. I pick one variegated color to match a kitchen, and one solid color. I find that 2, 2 oz. balls always works just fine.
